Maintenance

Here are a few requirements that will help you enjoy a great looking  floor longer.

  • Regularly sweep or vacuum the floor to prevent sand or abrasive dust from accumulating and scratching the finish.
  • Sand and water are wood’s worst enemies. Place rugs inside every outside entrance of the house, in front of the kitchen sink, kitchen working station and the dishwasher to protect the floor from water and oily detergent.
  • Use adequate floor protection under all furniture and chair legs, in order to ease their movements and to prevent scratches.
  • High heels, second only to water, are one of the worst enemies to  floors, Keep high heels shoes in good condition. Damaged or worn high hells may expose a metal tip which will certain damage the surface finish.
  • Never use wax, oil-based detergent or any other household cleaner. These may dull or damage the finish, leaving a grassy film and making the floor slippery and more difficult to clean.
  • Light scratches are easy to deal with by using the cleaner restore clean the damaged surface, color in the scratch with a filler stick, and apply a thin coat of top coating.
  • Protect your floor against direct sunlight or any intense source of artificial lightning. Over time, intense light will discolor exposed surfaces. This phenomenon with  floor surface is normal and natural. The lighter the color of the natural bamboo, the more apparent this phenomenon will be.
  • After a few years, you can easily restore the finish or change the color of your floor, Have a Taozen or another professional evaluate the condition beforehand.

Initial care

Following Installation, the floor should swept or vacuumed to removed any grit or debris that could scratch the floor.

Do not use oil-tread dust mops. Removes any adhesive on the surface of the flooring. Damp wipe of the floor with Commercial Cleaner Concentrate.

Daily Care or Large Commercial Areas

Following a regular maintenance schedule, sweep or vacuum to remove dirt, grit or dust that could scratch or be ground into the surface of the floor using one of the following procedures.

Commercial Maintenance

Commercial floors should be damp wiped the Commercial Cleaner on a regular basis to remove dirt and grit from the surface of the floor. Do not use this product over any floor that has been wax or oiled.

The following procedure is recommended for large commercial jobs

  1. Mix one part Commercial Cleaner Concentrate to four part water.(Do not pour liquid on floor)
  2. Place several large towels in a bucket of the cleaner solution and make sure they are thoroughly wet. Not use plenty of clean towels. Do not use towels unless they have been laundered. Dirty cleaning solution and towels simply re-posit dirt.
  3. Wring towels out thoroughly until they are damp (not soaked).
  4. Wrap towel around commercial floor broom and wipe the floor until it is completely free of dirt.
  5. Clean grease from the floor prior to cleaning with Commercial Cleaner Concentrate
  6. Tough-Up a Scratch Repair.
  7. To touch-up or repair scratches or gouges wipe the damaged are with a cloth dampened with Commercial Cleaner Concentrate Solution, allow to dry, the lightly sand the scratch completely out for the affected area.(always and with the grains of the wood.)Apply an even coat of the finish to the area being repaired, allow to dry, sand lightly, the apply a second coat and low to dry overnight
  8. Long term maintenance
  9. Revitalize any discernible traffic patter with products that meet the America Disabilities act requirements and gloss rating of 30. Before screening and re-coating clean the floor thoroughly with Commercial Clean Concentrate. When the floor is dry, its ready to screen, following the recommended procedures of the manufacturers product for coating.
